Au sein du musée des beaux-arts de Datong, l'installation vidéo «Le Fil d'Ariane» s'inscrit dans un double hommage : la célébration du patrimoine culturel immatériel et le 60ème anniversaire des relations diplomatiques franco-chinoises.
L'œuvre met en scène le déroulement d'un fil, dont une bobine se trouve en Chine tandis que son extrémité se déploie jusqu'en France, avant de s'enrouler dans le même sens. Plus qu'un simple pont entre deux territoires, ce fil incarne le lien intime et complexe qui unit les deux cultures. Il est la métaphore d'une identité tissée de ce métissage, un lien qui tout à la fois façonne et défait, ancre et libère.
Un questionnement sur la nature des liens qui nous unissent, rappelant que dans ce mouvement perpétuel, tout est profondément et indissociablement lié.
Presented at the Datong Art Museum, the video installation "Ariadne's Thread" stands as a dual homage: a celebration of intangible cultural heritage and the 60th anniversary of Franco-Chinese diplomatic relations.
The work depicts the unfolding of a thread, with its spool in China and its end extending to France before winding back in the same direction. More than a mere bridge between two territories, this thread embodies the intimate and complex bond that unites the two cultures. It is a metaphor for an identity woven from this intermingling—a connection that simultaneously shapes and undoes, anchors and sets free.
The installation invites contemplation on the nature of the bonds that unite us, reminding us that in this perpetual motion, everything is profoundly and inextricably linked.
